A dreamy cowboy and cowgirl soundtrack, with an idiosyncratic live sound and a relentless delay pedal effect countered by an overbearing diatonicism that goes just far enough to push through to an epic 80s movie montage reference. Heartbreaking at times, and playfully silly at others, it is low-fidelity honesty. A white key preference that's all grit and stubborn prairie intention. Western Mourning is a one-time musical event in its entirety.

As Souns, Michael Red's 'Coastal' project was born out sub-bass frequencies he started hearing on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia after taking up part-time residence there in 2011. The source of these frequencies is unknown and part of what appears to be a global mystery.** As a whole, 'Coastal' plays like a collection of field recordings with a few brief human interactions injected into otherwise natural, magnified sound environments. 'Coastal' was pieced together from hours worth of...

"Shelter Over Shelter" was recorded in snippets over the span of two years. Taking a cue from her earlier works, this collection by Prophecy Sun threads together both conscious and unconscious choreographies of moments passed and draws from an interior landscape of dreams. The tracks were done live in one take, and traverse knee deep into memories such as labour, sleepless nights, performances, pregnancy, park life, and visions of future time. Ultimately, the improvised recordings...

"Pop Metheny" is a collection of works inspired and informed by the written music of jazz guitarist Pat Metheny. It is a playful transcription of ostensibly complicated and harmonically advanced music, rendered simply and with humour, intended to demonstrate the potential for anyone and everyone to involve themselves in creative music making regardless of their level of training or education in the particular complexities of jazz music or otherwise.

Prophecy Sun recorded Sleep Fever in her living room, sampling her voice and clips of a fetal heartbeat taken from her belly. All songs were captured live over the span of three days, while she meditated over sounds, never left the house, ate everything in sight and slept zombie-like between recordings. The compositions focus on the voice as a symbol of the unconscious, capturing the immediacy of emotive textures and sounds that live inside her head. Her rhythms are of scattered daydreams,...

“Welcome Music” For whom does the doorbell toll? On the one hand, it is an alert for the inhabitant of a building. The bell rings, and that ring lets the inhabitant know that a delivery, a friend, a colleague, or some other visitor has arrived. On the other hand, the bell is a confirmation for the visitors that their presence has, in fact, been registered. The doorbell is, thus, both ringtone and ringback simultaneously. The doorbell’s ringtone is, to some extent, the choice of the...

Prophecy Sun recorded this most recent collection of material almost entirely in her living room using an iPhone, with the exception of one track which was recorded while riding her bicycle. Each song was captured live in one take. The compositions focus on the voice as a symbol of the unconscious, capturing the immediacy of emotive textures and sounds that live inside her head. Her rhythms are of day dreams, future visions, and lost love serenades.

Philosopher and author Rudolf Steiner wrote that the values of architecture derive from the belief that the buildings function as pathways of the soul into the spirit world, after the physical death of the body. He claimed we do not build buildings merely for shelter and protection as “architecture unfolds out the principle of the soul’s escape from the body”. Looking into Soviet buildings they seem to be built for merely practical, materialistic purposes. They reveal that in Soviet times...

With this release, Greek artists Savvas Metaxas and Maria Papadomanolaki (aka Dalot) experiment with the thresholds between sets of analog technology and the spaces they can create, disrupt, and deconstruct. Finding inspiration in the common ground between urban landscapes and Arthur C. Clarke's technologically secluded environments, the two artists offer two pieces of exploratory electronic music about space at its most expansive meaning.

Descent is the continuation of Akumu's study of resonances and micro-sonics found in our everyday world. Based on field recordings captured within train stations, banks and other large buildings, these four pieces re-synthesize and reduce those grand structures into the infinitesimal -- the real into the abstract. The result is an imaginary "molecular soundtrack" for the residents and travelers of these spaces. Simultaneously part of, and yet isolated from their surroundings and other...

'Entropic' was recorded during a long period of dysphoria, dyspnea, and anxiety. These feelings are the canvas where the music begins, evolves, and come to an end. It is a soundtrack of days marking the closure, the relief, and the faith. It sets the end and the beginning. It is hated and loved at the same time. It is emotional music from the brink of darkness.

A departure from the typical multi-timbre, highly structured tracks of Blundespublik, this release is as minimal as he can get. Knobs are cranked and left to decay, sequences are nudged and left to bend their brethren, timbres are set in motion to attract and repel one another. The resulting work is distilled to its essential melodies and textures, without sacrificing density and depth. Perfect listening for walking alone at night.

The listener is guided through evolving imaginary landscapes where the gray area between synthesized sounds and their natural counterparts is explored. Electronic gestures and polyrhythms harmonize with field recordings of the bustling cities, temples and rainforests of Southeast Asia. Technology is not used to infringe upon ecological and cultural soundscapes, but accentuates their musical and ephemeral nature.

Levelling follows the haptic and mental journeys in a process of exploring and experimenting with a new instrument. The trajectory unravels as the sound is sculpted in real-time, balancing between intuitive and attentive creative tendencies, floating across measurements of different conceptual/perceptual elevations and coincidental discoveries.

Toni & Jan-M collaborate for the second time after their first self-titled 7" released on Dirty Demos in the UK. After five years of silence between them, they once again gathered new material consisting of drone and ambient pieces evolving through the whole duration. The source of these sounds are field recordings made in untouched nature on Macedonian mountains and villages, then edited in the collaboration process between the two artists, each based in different parts of the world.

This collection of songs evokes the disorienting feeling of daily commutes on high speed trains in the Kansai region of Japan. The view out of the cabin window was an endless blur of bobbing telephone wires and slanted trees.

Solidifying his status as a staple artist on Panospria, Souns returns with a couple of gems from the vault. Like a fine whiskey, these two pieces have aged a decade and are now ready for consumption. 'Smoke' documents a live set recorded at the original location of Spartacus Books in Vancouver on April 24, 2004. The shop burned down the very next day on April 25, 2004. Also from the same year, 'Tree Falls' is an edited recording of a live set with Hawah, performed under a willow tree and close...
